About

My name is Dee and I am the artist behind Woodland & Rose.

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

As a child with an active imagination, I would often be making sculptures in the mud or even in my mashed potatoes at dinner time (much to my parents dismay lol) as I grew into a more confident self-taught artist, I moved on to drawing in pencil, crayon, or pastels, which then progressed to painting in watercolor, acrylics, and digital paintings.

Eventually I began working with clay. I really enjoy this medium, which allows me to create 3D designs that have been in my head. I make a lot of sculptures from clay, paperclay, and paper mache, specializing in holiday items. 

I work out of my little home studio. I usually have so many ideas in my head, and have never been the type to limit myself to just one artistic style or medium, so I am always making different things on any given day.

It is my hope to be able to bring them to light here at Woodland & Rose in the future.

Seeing people smile with something that I have created is the best feeling and makes me very happy to be doing what I do.
